Our presence in Africa goes back to 1977 when Kirloskar Kenya was established in Nairobi. The company’s aim was to mobilise the growing markets in Kenya, leveraging the close cooperation between India and East African countries. Today Kirloskar Kenya serves the East African region including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi. It offers comprehensive product solutions to its clients and provides the whole package, ranging from application consultancy, design, installation and commissioning, to after-sales service.

Kirloskar Trading South Africa was then established in Johannesburg in 2000 with a view to supply Kirloskar engines for general industrial applications, pump sets, forestry equipment, mining equipment, firefighting equipment, and Generating Sets. It serves as the sole distributor of Kirloskar Diesel Engines and related products, and offers extensive back-ups for spare parts in South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Botswana. So far, the company has supplied more than 9000 engines in South Africa and surrounding markets. Our air-cooled diesel engines gained popularity in the South African mining industry after they were supplied to major mining houses such as Sibanye Platinum, Anglo Platinum, Aquarius Platinum, Glencore Xstrata Group, and Impala Platinum.

Today, we operate in Africa through our hub offices in Dubai, Nairobi, and Johannesburg. These offices market and distribute Kirloskar products to a large bracket of industries across South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Mozambique, and Zambia. These include beverage, mining, food processing, cold storage, and pharmaceuticals industries.

We also provide complete power solutions, diesel engines for mines and industrial applications, industrial refrigeration solutions, packaged engineering reciprocating and screw compressor sets, services, and spares to the Southern African industries.

Kirloskar engines from Kirloskar Oil Engines are preferred for a wide range of applications in Southern Africa, from industrial mining in South Africa to agricultural engines in Zambia, Malawi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Over the years, Kirloskar Diesel Engines have enjoyed customer confidence in the Agriculture segment, especially for powering pumpsets and hammer mills/posho mills. We have now also introduced Power Tillers to expand our presence in the Agriculture segment.

Kirloskar Chillers are used in Africa in a variety of industrial applications such as vegetable oil production, in the chemical industry and the production of consumer goods by major multinationals.

Kirloskar Pneumatic is well-known in the oil and gas industry's upstream, midstream, and downstream applications in the area. All of Africa's major oil and gas EPC contractors have approved the company as a vendor. It is the preferred supplier of High Pressure Diesel Engine Driven Air compressors which have been running successfully in various African countries including South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Angola, Malawi, Tanzania and Botswana etc. These machines are used in various specialized applications like Water Well Drilling, Exploration Drilling, Bore Hole Drilling, Reverse Circulation, Percussion Drilling, Posthole Drilling, RC Drilling Jack Hammer, Reverting, Tunneling, Breaker, Mining, construction, Sand Blasting, Painting, Qarry, and Optical Pipeline Laying, Dewatering cable laying and so on.
